Twitter was buzzing about the release of Drake’s highly anticipated sixth album, “Certified Lover Boy,†on Friday, and Ayesha Curry was a big part of that conversation.
That’s because Curry, 33, was featured as the perfect wife on one of the artist’s tracks, though it certainly isn’t the first time Steph Curry’s wife has been celebrated for having certain feminine qualities considered desirable.
In the song “Race My Mind”. Drake laments being in love with a drinking woman who seems more interested in dancing the night away, showing her “cakes” to other men, and coming home drunk.

Cookbook author, lifestyle entrepreneur, Cover Girl and mother of three took to Instagram Stories to share Drake’s tracklist, which also includes songs with Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Lil. Wayne, Rick Ross, Kid Cudi and more. Before the album was released early Friday, Steph re-tweeted a promotional tweet from Drake and wrote “Congratulations Bro!”

This isn’t the first time Ayesha Curry has been involved in a social media conversation about being some type of ideal female.
In 2016, Curry was the subject of a feud, not on her own initiative, which compared her reputation to that of Oakland R&B singer Kehlani. At the time, Kehlani was involved in outrageous allegations that she cheated on fellow NBA star Kyrie Irving, her then boyfriend.
In the social media feud, Curry has been unwittingly portrayed as “the poster for some sort of idealized, new age Stepford wife,” a writer for the Daily Beast said.
“A devout Christian, she is attractive and respectable, celebrating her life as a wife and mother, while also advocating for modest dress and ‘classier’ standards,” said writer Stereo Williams.
Another writer, Joseph Milford of Elite Daily, also said that whenever the topic of a woman’s behavior becomes “the topic of the day on Twitter – especially when that conversation largely involves women of color – Ayesha Curry is added to the “mixture.
That’s because, he said, Curry is “widely regarded as the ideal woman to be in a relationship with in a world where there are so few prominent examples of famous women who are just that.”
Drake’s new song seems to portray her as that kind of desirable woman. And, after the album was released, fans had something to say about the name and immediately took to Twitter.
According to E! News, one person used a term for a man who likes to sleep to joke: “‘You’re not enough Ayesha’ is about to be (expletive) Boy Legend of the Year.”
Someone else joked that Drake probably got permission to use Ayesha’s name, but also joked that the permission came from Steph, as if he owned the reputation of his wife.

And still others have praised Curry on being married to Ayesha Curry, reverting to that archaic tendency to praise a man for his wife’s qualities or accomplishments. Someone actually praised Steph Curry as the “goat,†because he has such a desirable wife:
