East Springfield Community Center Dinner is scheduled for Thursday

EAST SPRINGFIELD – The East Springfield Community Center will hold its monthly fundraising dinner Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The dinner menu will be baked tavern ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, green beans, bread, dessert and a drink. The cost is $ 9. Guests can get take out or dine inside. Orders can be called at (740) 543-3700.

Monthly dinners take place on the second Thursday of the month.

The center is located on County Road 39 next to the East Springfield Volunteer Fire Department.

Mingo Knights of Columbus

MINGO JUNCTION – Knights of Columbus Mingo Council 4361 will be hosting a dinner at 6 p.m. on July 13 in the hall for all the Brother Knights and Widows who have sold their charity tickets.

The seventh edition of the Foundation

golf course scheduled for Saturday

STEUBENVILLE – The Cynthia Rose Phillipson Charitable Foundation will be holding its seventh annual golf race on Saturday at the Cadiz Country Club with a shotgun start at 11 a.m.

The fundraiser will include silent auction items and a 50/50 raffle. Sunset Motors provides a hole-in-one car on hole 11 at Cadiz Country Club.

The cost of golf is $ 90 per person and $ 360 for a team. Each participant will receive a gift.

The sponsorship levels available are: Platinum, $ 500, event sponsor; gold, $ 350, co-sponsor; silver, $ 200; sponsor of the hole; and bronze, $ 100, prize donation on a hole or auction item.

VBS ‘Mystery Island’ Theme

WEIRTON – The First United Methodist Church, located at 3301 West St., is running a vacation Bible school from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 11-15.

It is free and open to children aged 5 to 12. This year’s theme is “Mysterious Island: In Search of the One True God”. Children will participate in Bible study, music, crafts, sports, have dinner served, and receive a packed lunch bag.

Those who do not pre-register are asked to arrive 15 minutes earlier on this VBS day.

Souvenirs from the railway presented on Sunday at the Bergholz museum

BERGHOLZ – The Bergholz Area Museum will be open Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Railroad memorabilia will be on display as well as a railroad exhibit provided by Austin Broadzinski.

Antique milk bottles from the region will also be on display.

The museum’s permanent collection includes history related to area businesses, mines, schools, and surrounding communities in Jefferson County.

The museum is located at 268 Second St., Bergholz, next to the Bergholz Diner. Free entry.

Virtual Story Time Thursdays at Brooke Library
