CHURCH SALE: Southington Christian Church, 3285 State Route 534, is holding a sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Saturday and again on Labor Day. There will be holiday items as well as a variety of yard sale items (partial garage at the back of CSC). Proceeds will go to local charities and support nonprofit Operation Christmas Child.

DINNER ON THE FARM: The Trumbull County Agricultural Bureau held its Dinner on the Farm and Annual Meeting on September 8 at the WI Miller & Sons Farm, 3389 Gardner Barclay Road, Gustavus. The event will begin with a social and joyful half hour at 6:30 p.m. and the dinner meeting will follow at 7 p.m. This year’s guest speaker is Adam Sharp, executive vice president of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation.

Farm Bureau members will reflect on 2022 accomplishments, recognize scholarship and special award recipients, celebrate members and volunteers, and set the Trumbull County Farm Bureau’s course for next year.

There will be a proposed code change regarding membership: classifications, dues and more. A raffle will be organized for the benefit of the scholarship fund.

Dinner will be provided by Cockeye BBQ and Denmandale Dairy Ice Cream. Tickets are $25 per member, $35 per non-member, $10 for children 6-12, and children 5 and under are free.

Reservations are required by Monday by calling the Trumbull County Farm Bureau at 440-426-2195.

HERITAGE DAY AND SALE: The Niles Historical Society will hold its annual Heritage Day and garage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 10, on the grounds of Ward-Thomas House, 503 Brown St., Niles. Visits to the house will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Programs including historic Ralph Tolbert presentations in the Westenfield Room will take place from noon to 3 p.m. and Steel Valley Ukers will perform at 1 p.m. There will also be activities for children.

The Society is looking for artisans and vendors for the day. Donations of household items, tools, decorations and books (no clothing) will be accepted.

BACK TO SCHOOL: Pride & Joy Today LLC will present a Back to School Celebration, in conjunction with the New Jerusalem Fellowship and the McPherson Foundation, from 2-5 p.m. on September 10 at The Renaissance Place, 1948 Palmyra Road, Warren .

Pride & Joy Today LLC., in conjunction with Trumbull County African American Achievers Association, Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and Community Volunteer Council, will also feature “Think clean and go green” a citywide clean-up day, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 10.
