February 7 South Shore High School Sports Scores and Highlights

The Notre Dame Academy and Middleboro High women’s basketball team engaged in an offensive shootout Monday.

Two girls had career days on either side – Middleboro’s Shaunna Gallagher and NES’ Ava Orlando.

Orlando, a rookie, scored 43 points to lead his team to victory 72-66. Gallagher, a senior, played with 28 points in the loss.

The Cougars (6-8) also received contributions from senior Ava Foley (12 points) and eighth-placed Elle Orlando (11)

Riley Griffin (14 points), Alexandra Williams (12) and Aileen Peddie (12) were also in double digits for the Sachems (9-6).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

North Quincy 68, Fenway 38: The Raiders (14-0) handed Fenway its first loss of the season as sophomore captains Orlagh Gormley (28 points) and Ava Bryan (13) led the offense. Caroline O’Donnell had 6 points and Bridget Capone, Molly Tolland and Autumn O’Campus played well defensively.

South Shore Tech 47, South Shore Christian Academy 24: Ellery Campbell scored 17 points for the Vikings (13-2) and Alex Collins added 8.

Blue Hills 47, Randolph 31: The Warriors (10-7), who clinched a berth in the tournament, were led by rookie Kathleen Murphy, who finished with a double-double (19 points, 12 rebounds). Bridget Devine, a sophomore from Braintree scored 10 points. Rookie Bella Sulfaro had 9 points.

Holbrook 55, Southeast 54: The Bulldogs won the Mayflower League game.

Oliver Ames 68 years old, Canton 59: The Tigers picked up a big win in the Davenport Division of the Hockomock League as Caroline Peper scored 21 points.

Duxbury 49, Silver Lake 42: Molly Donovan scored 30 points to lead the Dragons to victory while Kiley O’Brine had 23 in the loss.

Thayer 48, Nobles 37: The Tigers fell to 1-14.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Hull 61, Avon 49: Gabe Griffin (20 points) and Tyler Sordillo (13 points) led the way for the Pirates (8-7).

Carver 71, Blue Hills 53: Tyler Lennox scored a game-high 20 points in the win while Ray Boutiette had a big double-double (20 points, 17 rebounds). Matt Mullins added 11 while Zach Ieronimo had 10. Marvin Louis (14 points), Luke Taylor (12) and Elijah Dumornay (11) led the Warriors offense.

Duxbury 64, Silver Lake 43: Trevor Jones scored 27 points for the Dragons.

South Shore Tech 57, South Shore Christian Academy 23: Billy Lally scored a double-double (14 points, 12 rebounds) and Jesse Lyons added 12 points for the Vikings (5-7).

Nobles 55, Thayer 42: The Tigers improved to 12-3.

HOCKEY BOYS

Archbishop Williams 2, Bishop Fenwick 0: Sean Murphy had a goal and an assist for the Bishops. Matt DiMinico scored the other goal. Nick Buchella recorded his second straight shutout in goal.

South East/Bristol-Plymouth 10, Tri-County 1: The Hawks (10-4, 9-0) won their sixth straight Mayflower League game as Thomas Mondeau and Keagan Bunker each scored twice. The victory also clinched a place in the tournament.

Quincy North 5, Somerville 1: John Lynch led the way for the Raiders with two goals and two assists. Pat McDonald scored his first college goal and Kevin Salmanowich and James Rogers added the other goals.

WATCH

Bridgewater-Raynham 51, Brockton 19: The Trojans (17-3) clinched the Southeastern Conference title with the victory. Kennedie Davis, Brent von Magnus, Brendan Rosher, Joey Medas, Lance Pepe, Chris Hogg, Christian Curley, Nathan Leach, Myles Beckett and Dominic Silvia picked up wins for BR.
