Hurricane Ida Relief and Donation Information

(KALB) – Here is a list of organizations to which donated items can be delivered or assistance can be offered to those affected by Hurricane Ida. We will continue to update the list as more information becomes available.

PARISH OF AVOYELLES

  • Helping Hand Youth Center – We will collect donations for the restoration efforts of the parish of Lafourche, because we have been approached by one of their representatives.

PARISH OF THE RAPIDS

  • James Greer at Grand Tire Automotive in Pineville offers her store as a supply drop-off point to collect items for those affected by Ida. He will deliver the items to Houma on Saturday (9/4/21). They ask for water, non-perishable foodstuffs, tarpaulins, gasoline cans. Other Useful Items: Batteries, Gloves, Contractor Garbage Bags, Solar Powered Lights / Lights, Battery Operated Fans, Bleach, Towels, Plastic Bins, Scrub Brushes, Extension Cords, Mosquito / Bug Repellent, Baby Wipes, power strips, ladders, infant formula, animal feed, sunscreen, first aid kits, manual can openers, sealed snacks and N-95 masks.
  • Central LA United Way – Hurricane Ida may not have directly affected our region, but as you all know, Louisiana is supporting its neighbors in these difficult times.

    • For those who want a more hands-on approach, please coordinate with the needs and others already present.
    • To access the Hurricane Ida incident, log on to https://crisiscleanup.org and click “Request Redeployment” on the dashboard. If your organization does not have an account, go to Crisiscleanup.org and click “Register” in the lower left corner of the screen.
    • There will be a need for volunteers for the hotline. If your organization is interested in providing volunteers, please contact Gina Newby: [email protected]

  • His Pineville Church – (1381 Pinehurst Drive, Pineville, LA; [email protected]; 318-704-5691)
    • Collect the following items to deliver to the First Baptist Church in Houma Thursday morning: tarps, bottled water, non-perishable food items
  • Episcopal Church of St. Michael – (500 Edgewood Drive, Pineville) Mainly collects food. Contact Kitty Wynn at [email protected] or (318) 715-2743.
  • State Representative Mike Johnson – (318) 487-5377; [email protected]

GRANT PARISH

  • Pollock of the First Baptist Church – (7956 Ridge Street, Pollock) Supplies can be dropped off at church until Friday. Items needed include: bottled water, food, cleaning supplies, toiletries, baby products, etc. For more information, please call the church office at (318) 765-3525.
