Lancaster hits 16 in 16-0 softball win

SOFTBALL

Lancaster 16, Logan Elm 0: Rylan Brown hit a three-run home run to propel Lady Gales to a non-conference road victory over the Braves.

Lancaster finished with 16 hits as they improved to 2-0. Ashlin Mowery threw a four-hit shutout in the circle.

Fairfield Christian Academy 13, Madison Christian 0: The Knights had 12 hits in their win over Madison Christian.

Addison Stem and Madison Clauss combined for a two-hitter. At plate, the Knights (2-0) were led by Stem who had three hits and five RBIs, while Clauss and Katy Smeltzer both had two hits.

BASEBALL

Liberty Union 21, Westfall 7 (game suspended in 4th inning): After falling 1-0 late in the first inning, the Lions offense exploded in a suspended game at the end of the fourth inning.

Through the first four innings, the Lions had 17 hits, led by Jon Wheeler, who was 4 for 4 with four RBI and four runs scored. Braden Shreyer was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and three runs, while Trevor Wood and Austin McClure were both 2 for 3 with one RBI and three runs and Jacob Miller was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored . .

Fairfield Union 7, Berne Union 7 (game suspended in the 9th inning): The Falcons and Rockets battled for nine innings before the game was suspended due to darkness.

Connor Schorr started the game with a 3 2/3 record allowing two earned runs on 3 hits for the Falcons. Kyle Wolfe threw 3 1/3 in relief, allowing an unearned run on a hit. Joey Bell pitched the final inning allowing a hit.

Offensively, the Falcons led us by Ronnie Rowley and Brody Wolfe with three hits apiece and Owen Morgan added two hits. West, Palmer, Schorr and Kyle Wolfe each added a hit apiece.

TENNIS

Lancaster 5, Zanesville 0: The Golden Gales shut out the Blue Devils in non-conference action.

At No. 1 in singles Jonah HoffmanWeitsman won 6-2, 6-3, at No. 2 in singles Grant Hampson won 6-1, 6-4 and at No. 3 in singles Parker Cohen won 6 -1, 6-0 . In doubles No. 1, Will Richardson and Graham Reilly won 6-1, 6-4 and in singles No. 2, Emerson Frazier and Evan Alspach won 6-0, 6-1.
