Mary Ursalene Sowers Sowder Orange, 101, formerly of Salem, Va., Passed away in High Point, North Carolina on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Ursalene was predeceased by her husband, Clifton J. Orange and her parents, Andrew J. (Dutch) and Lydia (Bettie) Sowers; ten brothers, one sister and their spouses. Ursalene will be sadly missed by the loves of her life, her son, John G. Sowder and his wife, Brenda, his granddaughter, Crystal S. Rose and her husband, Craig all of High Point, North Carolina, her grandson, Darian R. Sowder and his wife, Ronda of Inverness, Florida.

Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Lisa De Luzio, two step-granddaughters, two step-grandsons, two step-great-grandsons. Ursalene also survived many, many beloved nieces, nephews, great-great-great-nieces and nephews and many special friends and neighbors in Virginia and North Carolina. Ursalene was a dedicated Christian member of the First Christian Church in Salem, Virginia, serving on various committees and Elder Emiratis. She was a member of the Laurel Oak Christian Church in High Point, North Carolina, benefiting from teaching and spiritual practices.

A funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church of Salem on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Dan Netting of First Christian Church and Pastor Allen Brown of High Point, NC Visitations will be held prior to the church service 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Virginia. Arrangements were made with Lotz Funeral Home, Salem, Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made at First Christian Church, 712 Front Avenue, Salem, VA, 24153 and / or Laurel Oak Christian Church, 1001 Old Plank Road., High Point, NC. 27265 and / or https://www.authoracare.org (Hospice in Greensboro).
