“I was deeply saddened to learn that Sister Frances Antoinette Engler, SSJ passed away yesterday in a tragic accident. On behalf of the bishops, priests, deacons, consecrated nuns and lay faithful of the Archdiocese, I express my condolences to his fellow religious, to the community of Archbishop Ryan High School and to all who mourn his death.

Sister Frances Antoinette was a faithful witness to Christ and his Church. She has enriched the lives of many young people through her dedication to the mission of Catholic education for several decades. In addition, she has touched the lives of thousands of people in our region by serving as the Community Service Corps Coordinator at Archbishop Ryan High School. She inspired students to be faithful witnesses of Christ by serving as missionary disciples.

This moment is one of deep sadness. I ask all people of good will to join me in praying for the soul of Sister Françoise Antoinette, for the consolation and peace of her family, and for all those who are suffering because of her death. May the Lord pour out his mercy on them and embrace them in his loving arms. “
