Randall Mark Rolley was born on January 24, 1952 in Tupper Lake. His parents were Curtis and Madeline Rolley and lived on McLaughlin Avenue in Tupper Lake.

Randall was one of nine children. Many people will remember him nicknamed “Bimbo”, a nickname given to him by his mother, because of a song he liked when he was little. Randall and his family have always been involved in the Catholic Church, and he was at one time an altar boy.

Randall met his wife, Martha, when they were young teenagers in high school; he fell in love, he said. In high school, Randall played football, #79. He enjoyed playing the game he loved and traveling with his teammates. Randall graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1971.

After high school, Randall attended North Country Community College, then worked at Elliot Hardwood Co. He and Martha moved in together and were married on June 16, 1973. They lived at 73 Main St. before buying their house for still, in 1977, at 51 Water Street in Tupper Lake. In 1978, they welcomed their firstborn, a son, Nicholas Rolley. Four years later, in 1982, Jessica was born. Randall worked hard and gave his family a good life. Her children never lacked for anything.

Randall loved music and had many hobbies throughout his life. Randall enjoyed working on his house, painting, fishing and crafting. He was always ready to lend a hand and help anyone who needed it. Randall was a member of the Tupper Lake Volunteer Rescue Team for over two decades. Randall has held many jobs throughout his life, working from an early age. Most notably, Randall worked at The Veneer in Tupper Lake for many years eventually working at Sunmount as a disability aide until his retirement in January 2014. Randall was very happy to not only retire, but to spending time with her firstborn. Grandson, Noah Randall Johnson. Noah belonged to daddy “small man” who could do no wrong, and they had many adventures together.

Randall and Martha were the best grandparents a child could ever ask for. They would not only lovingly spoil him but provide him with the necessities and an abundant supply of toys. He made it a point to visit Noah every day. They took Noah and the family on vacation. The Kalahari water park was one of his favorite places and he acted like a young man, riding slides and enjoying the lazy river! Dad loved taking Noah to the playground and for walks. Noah never did without it. In November 2019, his second grandson Owen Johnson was born, and he was the apple of his daddy’s eye! He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed providing for them.

Randall and Martha stayed together, until death parted them. Martha passed away on January 16, 2020. To say he missed her terribly is an understatement. They are together again. Randall was predeceased by brother Ward, father Curtis, mother Madeline, brother Michael, sister Sandra and Diane. Randall is survived by his brother Curtis (Scott), his wife Linda, his sister Roseanne, Patricia and Joanne, his two children Nicholas Rolley, his wife Amy Rolley and Jessica Rolley (Johnson) and his two children, Noah and Owen.

Randall had said for the past two years that no one should be upset about his leaving this earth when the time came. His soul will be reunited with Martha, his soul mate, and they will spend eternity together in paradise. Although Randall was not involved in the church as often as he wanted, he was still a very spiritual man. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tupper Lake Fire Department and the Tupper Lake Rescue Team are welcome. Services for Randall will be held Feb. 8 at Frary’s Funeral Home, 24 Cliff Avenue in Tupper Lake from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On December 27, 2021, Kay Frances Braden left the fight of this life to be forever present with Christ her Savior. Proud of Texan (Fort Worth) descent, her family moved to the agricultural countryside surrounding Nashville when she was young. She attended Mt. Juliet High School and graduated. She married her classmate and high school sweetheart, Leonard Henson. The couple had three children, April Lynn, Robert Wayne and Michael Douglas Henson. A change in life circumstances set Kay and the kids on the move again, this time in the Washington countryside.

Although she is a full-time housewife, she turned her gift of singing and piano into a frequent job on stage, where she brightened up the performance of any ensemble. It was in 1971 that she met her future husband Bob Braden. They began a long-standing friendship and musical collaboration that will last for 50 years. Kay worked hard as a single mom to provide. In addition to music, she has worked in the service industry, as a retail department manager, and in restaurants, etc. A son, Clay Dylan Cottet, born in 1975, brought her a deeper desire to find her “forever”. It would prove elusive.

In 1989, after putting their group’s equipment in a shared warehouse, Bob was “firmly and forever” in love, and the couple never looked back. They got married in 1993 and Kay really enjoyed her role as “bonus mom” to Bob’s three daughters from a previous marriage. Life was sweet but just got sweeter with the inclusion of 8-year-old Janice Lapha into the family. Kay dedicated her life to this fragile little girl, who so badly needed stability. A period of placement led to Janice’s adoption in 2000, completing the family. A year later, a heart attack prompted Kay to shut down her successful Sunshine Clean agency and stay closer to home.

Her strong Christian faith and desire to obediently share this life-changing faith with others has kept her very active in Dayspring Baptist Church, as well as in their Safe Family Ministries missionary work. Kay was a teacher, nurturer, mentor, stay-at-home mom, deaconess, and steadfast loving friend. Meanwhile, the family, including Janice, have regained their musical voice, directing the worship music at Dayspring as well as the informal music education at SAFE. Kay relearns the guitar chords necessary to perform cult songs on her own, including her own compositions.

It seemed natural for this tender soul, rich in life experience, to effectively guide and encourage those around him. SAFE residents, friends, family and strangers have benefited from its balance between education and the “casual” structure. She was “Nana” to anyone who needed her and we are always grateful to have had her in our lives.

Kay was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Juanita and Bill Ayers, father Wade Arwine, brother Marvin Arwine and two small children. She is survived by her daughter April (Gary) Fuston, Robert (Teresa) Henson, Michael (Linda) Henson, son Clay Cottet, daughter Janice (Robert) Hogan and “bonus” daughters Tawna (Nathan) Morris, E ‘Lan Braden and Aja (Ben Curtis) Perry. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her nephews and nieces. Additionally, she loved and is loved by Braden’s extended family and her religious community.

Please join our family in celebrating Kay’s life on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Dayspring Baptist Church, 2088 Jackson Highway, Chehalis, Washington, 98532. In lieu of flowers, don’t hesitate to support a charity. charity of your choice. Kay’s heart had been moved in support of Compassion International.

Ardis (Toodie) Green
Ardis passed away peacefully on November 13, 2021. She was born to Arden and Gertrude Neller Hoaglund on September 17, 1928 in Aspen, Colorado. When she was thirteen, her family moved to the ranch in Rulison, Colorado. Ardis attended Rulison School and parts of Grand Valley and Rifle High School. She was invited to live with her aunt in Bakersfield, California to finish high school and begin nursing training. Her dream of breastfeeding was cut short when her father broke his hip and she returned to Rulison to help out on the ranch.
She married George Green in 1950 and joined him to work on the ranch that was their home for the next 52 years. Their three children, Darrell, Amy and John, feel it was a privilege to have been raised on the ranch. Ardis was involved in the outdoor work helping with the cows and in the kitchen preparing good food for anyone who helped or passed by.
Ardis has been involved in the community, helping out at school, teaching and playing the piano at Sunday School, and providing food for many fundraisers.
She worked at the Rifle Post Office, where her friendly face at the window will be remembered by many. Through her work, community involvement, and volunteering at the Rifle Museum, she has become a wonderful storyteller.
Her door was still open. She always had a cup of coffee ready and something good to eat. Their home was a favorite place for children and many friends. She was also involved in the lives of her grandchildren and their friends and became affectionately known to an entire generation as “Gramma Toodie”. Ardis was especially loved by her nieces and nephews, and it was always a joy to her whenever they could be together.
After George’s death, Ardis found a special friendship and fellowship with Harold Raymond. For several years, they loved to travel, eat in restaurants and sometimes dance.
Ardis spent his final years at the E.Dene Moore Care Center. She always noticed that the staff were so kind and attentive.
A celebration of his life will be held at First Christian Church in Rifle on January 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
She was predeceased by her husband George Green, her parents Arden and Gertrude Hoaglund, and her brothers Darrell and Edward Hoaglund.
She is survived by her children Darrell (Judy) Green of Rifle, Amy (Harold) Downey of Thornton, Colorado, and John (Christa) Green of Rifle, Colorado, her sister Edith Power of Phoenix, Arizona, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, many cousins, other loved ones she called family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First Christian Church, the Grand River Care Center Activity Fund, the Rifle Museum, or a charity of your choice.
