STEUBENVILLE – The Valley’s Got Talent is back and will be better than ever this year, according to organizer Bobbyjon Bauman.

More than $ 1,200 in cash prizes will be awarded on November 7 at the end of the competition at the Steubenville High School auditorium, which will begin at 6 p.m.

“We have had over 1,000 people attending this event in the past, and we are expecting a big crowd again this year,” Bauman noted.

Former Valley’s Got Talent winner Ashley Marina, who was part of the “America has talent” TV show, will perform a few songs at the event. The same will be true for a few other former Valley’s Got Talewnt winners.

Addison Albert of WTOV-TV will be the master of ceremonies.

“We had between 450 and 1000 people who attended the”Valley has talent“Of the competition over the past seven years, and this year we expect the competition to be off the charts” Bauman commented.

The “live” free practice will take place at the following dates, times and locations.

– Catholic Central High School, October 20, 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

РLyc̩e Edison, October 21, 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

РLyc̩e Steubenville, Oct. 26, 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m .;

– Sycamore Youth Center, Oct. 30, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Ages: 10-23 (groups / choirs / soloists may have people over 23 accompanying / accompanying singers / musicians, but only singers / musicians aged 10-23 will be judged in the competition.

Other rules and details include:

Residence: Applicants must live within 35 miles of Steubenville.

The categories are:

a.) Groups / vocal groups;

b.) Dance;

c.) Solo singers;

d.) Various talents (non-vocal) (poets, instrumentalists, etc.); and

e.) Choirs.

Songs should have inspirational / Christian content.

As this is a contest sponsored by the Ohio Valley Youth Network, which aims to uplift the hearts and minds of our youth as they use their gifts to reflect the creative gifts of God in their life, we kindly ask you to submit the lyrics to your song with your entry, “ Bauman explained. The selection committee is made up of members of the Ohio Valley Youth Network who will have the final say on what is appropriate for the competition.

Deadline: Those who cannot make it to the live trials (“We strongly recommend that you do so”, Bauman noted) are free to submit an audition online. Songs must be submitted via YouTube, email link, or internet video link by October 30 at 11:59 pm Songs / performances must be five minutes or less.

The participants / selected acts will be informed no later than October 31 at 11:59 p.m. by SMS or e-mail. Typically, only 20 acts in total (usually five per category) will be chosen to play in the “The valley has talent” Evening at the Auditorium of Lycée Steubenville on November 7, starting at 7 p.m. The event will be posted on Facebook “Live” as well as on Comcast Cable TV on channel 15 of the Town of Steubenville schools offline.

“It promises to be one of the most watched VGT ‘Valley’s Got Talent’ competitions of all time,” Bauman commented.

The judgment criteria include:

a.) Spiritual / inspirational effectiveness;

b.) Vocal / instrumental excellence; and

c.) Presentation (ability to engage / connect with audience)

The prizes awarded will be:

Grand Prize Winner: (Best overall, regardless of category) $ 500;

First place in each category: $ 100; and

Second place in each category: $ 25.
