McDONALD – Gerri Village, 86, passed away at 11:24 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

Gerri was born August 22, 1935 in Pikeville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Ranson Coleman and Matilda Coleman.

In addition to working as a housekeeper and nurse’s aide in her youth, she completed her years working as an assembly line worker at General Motors Corp., Lordstown. It was there that she met Michael Village. They married on July 16, 1983 and have been devoted ever since.

Gerri loved to play slots in casinos with her husband, Mike, and never missed a Monday night bingo with her daughter, Debbie.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; his daughter, Debbie Nichols Bowser (Richard Gerke) of Niles; his sons, Roy (Marsha) Nichols of Cortland, James Nichols of Warren, Don Nichols of Warren, Randall (Johanna) Nichols of Fowler, Larry (Lisa) Nichols of McDonald, Christopher (Alexis) Village of Austintown and Timothy (Shannon) Youngstown Village. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; and her sisters, Fern and DeVitta (Don) Shipman.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughters, Sue Nichols and Tammie Lewis; one stepson, Michael Village; two granddaughters, Tina Roberts and Jennifer Stanhope; and his brothers, Vernon and Tennis Coleman.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2021, with a memorial service immediately following, at Cortland Christian Church, 153 Grove St., Cortland, OH 44410.
